CLE, Hope for Haiti and the Haiti Food Systems Alliance (HFSA) are launching “Spotlight on Social Entrepreneurship” on May 24 and 25, 2023. It is a business presentation competition bringing together young people from the CLE network, from the Alliance and Hope for Haiti, working in the field of Agriculture and having an operational business or a business idea.
“Spotlight on Social Entrepreneurship” is produced with the aim of highlighting initiatives from the agro-industry, but also to support the emergence of new companies, or even to strengthen them. This initiative is also carried out with the objective of taking a particular look at Agriculture in general in this month of May, considered by CLE and the the Haiti Food Systems Alliance as the month of Agriculture. It is also an opportunity to highlight certain professionals and institutions working in this field.

Indeed, we are aware of the enormous challenges that young people in Haiti face in starting their businesses, and we are committed to increasing funding opportunities for all categories. To this end, with the financial support of Hope for Haiti, W. K. Kellogg Foundation, the Alliance and Profin, we have raised $35,000 which will be awarded to the winners in the form of grants. From this amount, small seed grants will also be awarded to “aspiring agri-businesses” to support the launch of their business ideas. The winners of this category will be announced soon.
