Strategic Initiatives

PoteKole

POTE KOLE-meaning “to help one another” in Haitian Creole-is the umbrella initiative through which CLE channels catalytic funding and targeted accompaniment to Haitian leaders, organizations and businesses. We act as the intermediary and guarantor of these resources, helping scale leaders’ efforts to respond to events like the covid-19 pandemic, and Hurricane Matthew (2017). Our impact to date has reached 150,000 Haitians across the country. Click to support CLE’s current POTE KOLE efforts in response to the August 2021 earthquake and how in partnership with a strong coalition of partners we are working to bring about a more dynamic civil society and private sector in the south of Haiti, for the future.

Chanpyon Lakay

The Chanpyon Lakay competition highlights and supports young leaders. Haiti’s youth is resilient in the face of many challenges, and committed to bringing innovative solutions to the problems their communities face! Chanpyon Lakay is an annual publicly voted youth competition that launched in 2019. Winners receive seed funding, mentorship and capacity building, and access to a wide range of opportunities including international scholarships to help them scale their work.

The voting campaign of the Chanpyon Lakay 2021 competition is over. Click below to learn more about the nine semi-finalists. On December 17th, 2021, you will be able to find out who will bring the most impact to Haiti with their innovation at the live streamed finale ceremony on our Facebook page!

Konbit Jèn

“Konbit Jen” is a conference series growing across Haiti! Launching in 2015, this event centers around youth leadership and empowerment. These day-long events encourage youth to utilize resources within their community to spark change. Inspiring youth speakers motivate participants – engaged youth in all ten departments – through presentations and workshops discussing the opportunities in entrepreneurship, woman leadership, civic engagement, community development, and more.

Koze Fanm

This women’s events series was launched in 2018 to bring Haitian women together around the issues that matter most to them. Through mentorship circles, panels, and now launching broader and more ambitious events through our new Fanm Angaje Program, Koze Fanm is a safe space where women leaders can support each other in their specific areas of expertise and interest
